Ancillary Probate

Ancillary probate proceeding is a proceeding that is conducted in a state different from the one in which the deceased resided at the time of his/her death. Generally, ancillary probate proceedings are made necessary in situations where the deceased person owned real estate in a state other than the one where he resided and died.
