Workers' Compensation

Workers' compensation (also referred to as workmen's compensation) is a program that provides for income and medical care expenses to employees who sustain work-related injuries or illnesses. Under the program, financial benefits can also extend to the employees' dependents and to the survivors of employees who are killed on the job. In most situations, workers' compensation program pays relatively modest amounts and prevents the employee or dependents from suing the employer for the injuries or death.
